Dreams of the Artist

What a creative month this has been for the little blogger group that started out together five years ago. It seems like everyone is having an explosion of creativity at the same time.

The lovely Val Poore, whose blog link can be found on my main page, has just had her first novel, The Skipper's Child, published, which you can find here.

The equally wonderful String, who can also be found on the left sidebar, has started a record label with her partner, musician Tony Lowe, which you can find here.

I am not moving as swiftly as this pair, but I am excited that my book is in its final editing stage and that my book cover is being created. Watch this space- there is more to come!

It's actually been six years- Pete started his blog in the fall of 2005. Where does the time go, eh?

what wonderful writers here @blogger.
(wonder why I am even here. It definetely is a great creative outlet for a writer).
I am here, as you mention Anne Marie, Pete, and Rachel. I didn't even know what Blogger was, until Pete mentioned it. So, I am here because all of you lovely friends I have met along the way. x

Anne Marie, you and Dale were my absolute first blog friends, followed by Gypsy and String quite soon after. Yes, it is six years! I have had my blogs printed into book form and I love browsing through them.

Thank you so much for the mention here and it's an honour to be mentioned in the same paragraph as Tony Lowe and String.

I can't wait to see your book in print!!! If you take out a distribution package and get it onto Amazon and the book depository, I am certain you will sell loads! Upload your books to Kindle too - it's free! I think Lulu also puts them as e-books onto i-Tunes as well, but I took mine off there because they did it without telling me and even put private editions (like my hard backs which had different dedications and personal messages) on iTunes. I was a bit cross with them about that, so just keep an eye on what they do.

And GOOD LUCK!!! Let us know when it's available!

Val, String, and grace, thanks so much for all the kind words. I do remember the early blogger days with great affection, this collection of Pete/Who fans and so many creative types, and it is so cool that we are all still here, 5 years later, living the dream and still good friends. That is the real gift of Pete's novella experiment.

I am pretty close to getting things done, just needing to reread my edited chapters, done by another wonderful blogger friend who is also a professional editor, Brina. My cover art is finished, just waiting for the final spacing to be established, and so we are not too far away.

I was talked into having a launch party at my home in January by a colleague and dear friend yesterday, and he suggested placing a laptop in the room so people could order online. Too funny, but not a bad idea! I just want to hang out with my friends and celebrate getting it done, personally.

So if any of you want to come freeze your tails off in Toronto this January, I can offer you a warm bed and some champagne.
