Last night, the whole city went crazy as the local baseball team, The Toronto Blue Jays, advanced to the next playoff round after a 23 year drought. The deciding game was filled with tension and controversy, not the least of which was the fear of a full-blown riot and uncharacteristically rude behaviour by many fans. For me, as exciting as the game was, the real magic of the evening was going to be to finally see and hear Billy Connolly perform at Massey Hall.
I wrote a review of the evening, which you can read here. It was, for me, another bucket list item crossed off. It ended with the chance to say hello to one of the funniest men in the world, and to share a laugh with him. He was gracious, patient, and very kind to the small group that waited for him at the stage door. It's an evening I won't soon forget. Thank you, Billy, for all your years of entertaining us, and for making yesterday such a special one.
